Drive Early Math Outcomes

Explore our evidence-based math practice tool that help K-2 students master grade-level content through play-based learning and math discourse.

Building Blocks for Early Math Success

Family and Classroom Playlists are K–2 math learning activities designed to spark mathematical discourse and reinforce key skills through play-based collaborative learning. They can be aligned to any high-quality curriculum or state-level standards. They help teachers differentiate instruction, reinforce key mathematical concepts, and give students opportunities to practice and apply skills in engaging, interactive ways.

Classroom Playlists support collaborative learning during math centers, giving students structured opportunities to practice concepts and share mathematical thinking with peers. Family Playlists extend learning into the home with multilingual access and flexible formats (text, audio, and visuals) that meet the needs of diverse households.

Each Playlist include:

  • Video instructions on how to play the activity
  • Prompts to elicit student thinking and encourage deeper explanations
  • Opportunities for students to record their reasoning, which is then shared with teachers

*Family Playlists meet rigorous data privacy standards and are certified through LAUSD’s Unified Digital Instructional Procurement Plan (UDIPP) and NYC DOE’s Enterprise Request Management Application (ERMA).
